“ON THE EARTH, NATIONS WILL BE IN ANGUISH AND PERPLEXITY…”THOSE ARE JESUS’ WORDS, speaking of the signs of increasing turmoil that He said would be seen in the earth and sky as we near His return. The Bible calls this time between Jesus first and second coming the “last days” and Jesus himself spoke of these world conditions as signs that we should keep our eyes on as indicators of His imminent (possible at any moment) return.

Here are more of His words from Luke 21:10, 11, 25-28, 36 (emphasis mine)
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near... Be always on the watch and pray...”

So here are some things to be watching and praying over:

- The Nation of Pakistan is in turmoil as the leaders struggle and terrorists threaten. All of this in a country with nuclear weapons, offering sanctuary to insurgents in large frontier areas contested by tribal warfare.
PRAYER NOTE:  The Christians of Pakistan are among the poorest and most oppressed. Our Foursquare family, of perhaps 40 churches, is bravely ministering through these difficult and insecure times.

- The people of Chile were recently rocked by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake leaving 15,000 homeless.
PRAYER NOTE:  The home and church building of Foursquare Pastor David Bolvaran were completely destroyed as were other churches and 80% of the buildings in the towns of Tocopilla and Maria Elena.

- The nation of Bangladesh is reeling in the aftermath of a recent cyclone with a rising death toll already over 3,000 and with 5 million left homeless.
PRAYER NOTE AND APPEAL FOR SUPPORT:  The national leaders, Benjamin and Monica Mondal, and our Foursquare Churches. They are praising God for sparing their lives but almost all of their members have suffered losses in some way. Already they have started to do what they can to help their neighbours and are receiving gifts from Foursquare Churches around the world.  If you would like to help you can mark an offering for “Bangladesh” and we’ll make sure that it gets to our brothers and sisters on the storm front.

Jesus is coming soon so as He said, lets “stand up”, ”lift up” our heads and pray.
