When manually calculating payroll deductions, current tax tables must be used. These tables can be found on the CRA website www.cra-arc.gc.ca under Businesses – Payroll – Payroll Deductions Online Calculator, Tax Tables.
Sage Accounting users will calculate payroll through Paycheques under Employees & Payroll.
Record of Earnings
A Record of Earnings must be provided with each paycheque that details the gross salary, CRD, taxable benefits and applicable taxes and deductions. For manual systems, hand written statements can be prepared. For Sage Accounting Users, a Payment Advice can be printed and attached with cheque.

Paycheques are calculated in Paycheques under Employees & Payroll. Tax, CPP, EI deductions are automatically posted to Payable/Expense accounts for Employee and Employer portions.Only employee portion of GIP and Pension deductions are posted to Payable account.
