Canadian Foursquare Missions (CFM) began a partnership last year with the Foursquare Gospel Church of Myanmar under the direction of National Leader Thang Zakhim (Pakhim). In an effort to become more self-sufficient, Pakhim has purchased 20 acres of farmland to grow rice crops in order to provide the food needed to care for the 14 orphan children at their Children's Home, as well as the students and teachers at the Foursquare Bible College in Tachileik (Golden Triangle).
They have been transplanting and fertilizing these fields in preparation for many harvests to come. Foursquare churches in Canada responded and donated, including a foursquare youth group in Turtle Lake, SK who gave the proceeds from their 30 hour famine event to assist. Here are some photos from Myanmar of how the assistance received helped with the harvesting of their rice crops.
