I was in contact with Chad Isenhart from FMI Foursquare Disaster Relief this morning and they have already begun to respond. They are still working hard to get more information from Nepal. It has been challenging and very slow due to fact that both the internet and phones are down. He has let me know that our Foursquare workers in Nepal are okay. However there have been reports that 2500 people have lost their lives and “the hospitals are completely jammed – treating people as well as they can in the parking lots” as “another 6.9 quake took up destruction where the 7.9 left off one Saturday. Norvic hospital, the finest in Nepal, was rendered uninhabitable”. Chad will head to Nepal tomorrow to see firsthand how Foursquare Disaster Relief can help and an official update should be on the FDR site soon (see website below).
Canadian Foursquare Churches can partner with them by praying for the nation of Nepal during this difficult time:
- Protection for those injured or still trapped
- For a cessation of aftershocks
- Unrestricted flow of relief help to those affected
- The Church to reach out in love to all those around them
- For vast numbers of people to turn to the Lord through this.
As well, financial support is needed through donations designated to the Relief work to be done in Nepal.
IMPORTANT DONATION INFORMATION:
To donate to these relief efforts please click the "Donate Here" button above or below this post. And your funds will be directed to the Foursquare Canada National Office. We will then transfer the funds to FMI Foursquare Disaster Relief. Canadian churches cannot give directly to the U.S. and individuals who do cannot be issued tax receipts. FGCC has a funding agreement in place with the U.S. Church allowing us to legally send funds for Foursquare Disaster Relief.
