So maybe you are looking for a church or you are considering visiting us for the first time? Here are a few FAQ’s to give you a flavour of who we are and what you can expect.

  • When do you meet?

We meet on Sundays at 10am and our service lasts until around 11:45am.  More info on can be found on our page: http://northlightchurch.ca/meetings-and-services-info/sunday-service-information/

  • What is the service like?

Our services are lively, engaging and inspiring. We value real people living out real faith and seek to reflect this in our meetings.

We start off with music & worship, transition through to an announcement time, greet each other and then move on to the sermon/message. We end our time with opportunity for prayer and time for meeting each other over coffee.

  • What is the music like?

We are passionate about worshipping Jesus! We love music, worship and the arts, and this is reflected in our music and worship style. We have a team of musicians and enjoy a wide mix of modern worship music. We also at times, will be spontaneous and creative in our worship together. Some people are free to be expressive and you may see people moving/dancing, raising their hands or waving banners/flags.

  • What do I wear?

We are a fairly informal church and so feel free to wear what you feel comfortable in. Most people dress on the lower end of smart casual, but there is no dress code.

  • What about my kids?

There is a “kids church” thats starts part way through our service, after the worship and announcements. Currently, it’s for ages 3-11. We have a team of teachers, parents and volunteer helpers who are facilitating this.

There is also quiet space available for those with younger kids or infants.

  • How much do I need to know about Jesus, the bible etc?

However much you know or don’t know is just fine! Just come and find out more! Everyone at our church is on a journey to finding out more. This is true for those in our church who have been believers for decades and people who are just exploring faith.

  • Are you a pentecostal or charismatic church? And what does that mean?

Yes we are, but those labels can mean so many different things. We believe that God is active spiritually and present supernaturally. Because of this, you may hear people speaking in a different spiritual language, praying or talking to God out loud. At times people share what they feel God is saying to us from the front and often we pray for people to receive healing.

  • Is there anything else I need to know?

We believe that church is about community and interacting with each other. There may be times when we encourage people in the congregation to pray with each other or take communion with each other. When those times happen, please don’t feel like there is any expectation on you, just take part as you feel able to.

If there’s anything we have not covered, please feel free to contact us.
